NGVA Europe’s initiative aims to highlight the advantages – environmental and economic – that natural gas and renewable gas mobility represents for the decarbonisation process of the European economy.
The NGVA Europe (Natural & bio Gas Vehicle Association), a European association founded in 2008 to promote the use of natural gas and renewable gases in the transport sector at the European level, and whose members are companies and associations throughout the European gas and vehicle production chain, including Dourogás GNV, of the Dourogás Group, recently launched a campaign to raise awareness of all the advantages of mobility using natural gas and renewable gases.
G-mobility highlights biomethane as the fuel with zero emissions, being the most effective and efficient way to face the massive challenges that the decarbonisation process has launched to European economies. Gas mobility, natural or renewable, represents a solution with lower environmental impact, better energy performance and economic efficiency in the renewable gas sector.
With the addition of renewable gases, such as 100% green biomethane, natural gas is the solution to immediately decarbonise one of the sectors that contribute most to the challenge of reducing pollutant emissions, such as the heavy transport of people and goods.
João Filipe Jesus, General Director of Dourogás GNV, points out that Europe, at this moment, “already has the necessary infrastructure to accelerate and maximize the transition from fossil fuels to green and renewable fuels and, in this way, meet more than 40% of the overall needs of long-distance transport in Europe”. For him, the “new campaign of NGVA Europe, an association to which the Dourogás Group proudly belongs, reinforces our certainty that this is the path to follow to guarantee clean energy mobility and transport in Europe”.
